“It’s been hard work but my business has given me and my family a fantastic standard of living – both in terms of income and lifestyle. I know that my family’s future is secure thanks to my Autosmart franchise and I am now looking forward to retiring and spending more time with my family.

“Before becoming a franchisee I was a parts manager for an automotive company. The company struggled through the recession of the early ‘90s and had made some redundancies. I had the pressures of running a department with fewer staff, who were demotivated as pay was frozen.

“I was approaching 40 and began to think that I could do better in my life. Increasingly, I realised that I wanted to get away from the pressures of the rat race and work for myself.

“I decided that a franchise would give me the freedom and profits of running my own business, with the added security of a large company behind me. I looked at several options and decided that Autosmart offered the best support to help me get the business off the ground and the greatest earnings potential once the business was established.

“I’ve been going for 15 years and I know that I made the right choice, especially in the current economic climate. My Autosmart business has been unaffected by the recession and I haven’t had the stress of wondering if I might be made redundant tomorrow. Another thing I have loved is that I didn’t have to ask the boss when I wanted to take a holiday!”
